The Final Straw
This is the proverbial straw the broke the camel’s back.
The accumulation of all the dumb things about this company has finally pushed me over the edge. Watching Riddler treat everyone like a child has never helped. e.g.:
- No you can’t work from home today, even though there’s no reason to be in the office, and you’ll be alone
- No you can’t go to the conference that’s critical to our work, even though it’s free and has no travel/accommodation costs
- Yes I will read every email you send to clients and criticize you about your choice of language after the fact
… and so on. This, followed by trying to get a particularly important implementation plan together amidst stupid timelines and a complete lack of contextual knowledge… it’s enough.
The HPDEB is officially done. I’m wasting my time doing work I don’t care about or enjoy.
As a company we’ve become fantastically good at failing at everything, or completing things poorly. Always. In every context.
Riddler is absolutely opposed to asking for expert opinions or for acknowledging to anyone that we don’t know everything about everything. That means we know little about everything and thus always fail.
Anyways… after a meeting about this implementation plan (where he disregarded everyone’s advice), I finally decided to take the path GHC chose many, many years ago.
Farewell GR. It was… interesting.
